What to know about our process for donating eggs

Donor Age

Our egg donors are between the ages of 21 and 30 if donating for the first time, and through age 33 if they’ve successfully donated before.

Retrieval

Donors undergo a stimulated medicated IVF cycle to retrieve their eggs. This cycle will involve medicated injections and appointments to monitor the progress of the eggs as they mature.

Flash Freezing

The eggs are then flash-frozen and vitrified. Available data shows that eggs warmed after rapid freezing have a similar success rate to those used immediately after egg retrieval and left unfrozen. Check out our Blastocyst Promise.

Shipping

The flash freezing process ensures that our donor eggs will be as good as the day they were retrieved for many years post-donation. By immediately freezing the donated eggs, we can ship the eggs to fertility clinics whenever aspiring parents are ready to use them.

In addition to the screenings above, we follow rigorous standards that meet Food and Drug Administration guidelines and conduct a full family history review with our egg donors in an attempt to catch any future genetic risks for your child. While it is not possible to fully eliminate risk, our egg donor screening will greatly reduce these risks in comparison to having a baby the old-fashioned way.
